Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition characterised by persistent patterns of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity that significantly interfere with functioning across multiple areas of life.
ADHD is frequently underdiagnosed — particularly in adults, and particularly in individuals whose presentation does not fit the stereotypical picture of a hyperactive child. Many adults reach their thirties, forties, or beyond without ever having received an accurate assessment, having spent years struggling with concentration, organisation, time management, and emotional regulation — attributing these difficulties to character rather than neurobiology.
At IsraClinic, ADHD assessment is conducted using the MOXO Diagnostic Continuous Performance Test (dCPT) — one of the most objective, validated tools currently available for ADHD diagnosis.
ADHD presents in three clinical subtypes:
Predominantly inattentive — difficulty sustaining attention, following through on tasks, organising activities, and managing time, without prominent hyperactivity.
Predominantly hyperactive-impulsive — restlessness, difficulty remaining seated, impulsive decision-making, without prominent inattention.
Combined presentation — significant symptoms in both dimensions; the most common subtype.
In adults, hyperactivity often presents less visibly — as internal restlessness or constant mental busyness — while inattention, impulsivity, and emotional dysregulation tend to be the more prominent features.
ADHD frequently co-occurs with anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, and sleep disorders — which is why a full psychiatric assessment is essential alongside ADHD-specific testing.
Common presentations in adults and older adolescents include:
In children and adolescents, presentation may be more visible — with disruptive behaviour and inability to remain seated — but quieter inattentive presentations, particularly in girls, are frequently missed.
IsraClinic uses the MOXO dCPT — a computerised continuous performance test developed specifically for ADHD assessment — as part of its diagnostic protocol. The MOXO measures four core dimensions: attention, timing, hyperactivity, and impulsivity, against age-matched normative data.
Valery Kravitz, director of IsraClinic, holds MOXO dCPT certification issued by Neurotek, February 2024, in accordance with Israel Ministry of Health guidelines.
The MOXO assessment at IsraClinic is conducted as a complete three-stage process:
Stage 1 — Pre-test clinical interview. Developmental history, educational and occupational background, symptom onset, current functioning across multiple domains, and relevant family and medical history.
Stage 2 — MOXO test. Standardised computerised assessment (~20 minutes) measuring the four ADHD-specific dimensions against normative data.
Stage 3 — Post-test consultation. Full review of results with clinical interpretation, diagnostic conclusions, and recommendations for next steps.
Where clinically indicated, the assessment may be conducted twice — before and after a stimulant medication trial — to assess pharmacological response as part of the diagnostic process. Medication cost is discussed and agreed in advance.
The MOXO assessment is available for children, adolescents, and adults — in person and online.
Full pricing is available on the Services and Prices.
Treatment is individualised based on the diagnostic findings, the patient's age, symptom severity and profile, and co-occurring conditions.
Where pharmacotherapy is indicated, medication is selected based on the patient's full medical and psychiatric profile. Digital prescriptions are issued through the Israeli Ministry of Health system.
Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) adapted for ADHD, psychoeducation, skills coaching, and supportive psychotherapy are integrated with or offered as an alternative to pharmacotherapy depending on the individual case.
For children and adolescents, family involvement in the treatment process can be arranged where clinically appropriate.
An ADHD assessment is appropriate if you — or your child — experience persistent difficulties with attention, organisation, or impulse control that interfere with functioning at school, work, or in relationships, particularly if these difficulties have been present since childhood.
If you have a prior ADHD diagnosis and wish to have it reviewed, or require an independent assessment for institutional purposes, IsraClinic provides comprehensive evaluations with full written conclusions.
IsraClinic accepts patients in person in Tel Aviv and online, in Russian, English, and Hebrew. No referral is required.

ADHD is one of the most underdiagnosed conditions in adults. If you recognise these patterns in yourself or your child, a structured assessment is a meaningful first step.
